Last Will & Testament

A Will directs how your assets are distributed at death and names guardians for minor children. A Will must go through probate to be effective.

Revocable Living Trust

A Trust allows your assets to be managed during your lifetime and distributed after death without probate. Assets properly titled in the trust generally avoid probate.

Durable Power of Attorney

Allows someone you trust to manage your financial affairs if you become incapacitated. This document does not avoid probate but prevents the need for a court-appointed guardian.

Health Care Surrogate, Advance Directive & Living Will (Combined)

These documents appoint someone to make medical decisions for you and express your wishes regarding life-prolonging procedures. They do not affect probate but ensure your medical wishes are honored.

Lady Bird Deed (Enhanced Life Estate Deed)

Transfers real estate automatically upon death while you retain full control during your lifetime. This deed avoids probate for the property it covers.
